When you hear the word Thailand, you more than likely think of a far off place in Asia that is covered in nothing but jungle, but think again there is a lot more going on than you think. Thailand is quickly becoming popular for its ales.

Let’s take a look at what different types of brews that are offered in this area. You may recognize some of them as you might have sampled them before or this may be all new to you. Either way, if you want something completely different, then try one of these:

  • Chang – This is a very unique pale lager. It is 6.4 percent alcohol, and its label is recognized by two elephants facing one another. It started in 1995 and has become the best selling beer in Thailand. The brew is nothing more than malts with some rice, which gives it the different taste.
  • Leo – This is a 5 percent lager that is a non premium. It is a local’s only type of brew and is not as widely recognized as Chang. It carries a light taste and has been compared to American domestics. The only difference is flavor. Flavor is what separates it from U.S. ones and makes it more individual.
  • Singha – It is a pale lager that started back in 2006. It had become the most famous brew in the area and still is today, six years later. Its brewery does more than one billion liters per year. That’s a lot for a brewery in Thailand. You may have seen this offered at your favorite restaurant or bar as it is offered in America as well.
  • Cheers - As the name states, this is a happier beer offered in the country. It is rather inexpensive with a high price taste. Most consumers choose this because of the price. So if you’re not looking to spend a lot of money and are looking for a brew that has a great taste, you may want to consider one of these.Thailand brews are quickly becoming a new fad in the States. You can learn more about these brews from your local distributor or research them online. They are the latest craze with brew enthusiasts everywhere.
